NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
At BDT we are actively advancing and broadening our Bio+ product line, which includes naturally engineered binder additives and sealants. Our product development is strategically focused on market opportunities such as wood rejuvenation and protection, concrete sealants and protection, additives for creating more sustainable and resilient packaging solutions, and a sealant designed to replace plastic used in agricultural crop production.
Among our most innovative Bio+ offerings are bio-resin sealants, uniquely manufactured to provide exceptional performance. These sealants are engineered to enhance protection for aging asphalt surfaces and to mitigate unpleasant odors associated with various waste materials. All of our existing and emerging Bio+ products are carbon-negative, significantly contributing to carbon sequestration and transforming our permanent solutions into long-term carbon sinks.
Asphalt Surface Sealant
Asphalt rejuvenating agents are formulated to prolong the lifespan of asphalt pavements. These agents are engineered to penetrate the surface of the pavement, restoring vital chemical components (maltenes) that have been lost due to oxidation, sealing small fissures and cracks, reversing the aging process, and enhancing overall durability. Currently, petroleum-based oils serve as the primary rejuvenating agents. At BDT, we are developing a natural plant-based sealant aimed at restoring the plasticity of oxidized asphalt, providing a genuinely eco-friendly alternative. Both field and laboratory trials are currently in progress, with a commercially available solution expected to be launched in the spring of 2027.
Odour Control Sealant
Odorous pollutants originating from waste products can have a wide range of effects, from minor irritations to significant health hazards. Their impact is influenced by various factors, including concentration, composition, and duration of exposure. While many odors from landfills, composting facilities, and sewage treatment plants are mainly unpleasant, they are often associated with a variety of complex, hazardous substances. At BDT, we are in the process of developing a natural, plant-based sealant designed to eliminate these odorous pollutants, offering a truly eco-friendly solution. We are currently conducting both field and laboratory trials, with plans to launch a commercially available product in the summer of 2026.
