EROSION CONTROL
Bio+EC is a highly effective sprayed bio-binder and sealant which is manufactured using advanced proprietary technology and naturally engineered to seal and stabilize non-traffic surface areas. Bio+EC prevents the damage and loss from erosion while preventing leaching into the surrounding environment.
Bio+EC is certified through the USDA BioPreferred program to be made from 100% natural and environmentally safe bio resources, it is non-leaching, environmentally safe, it is applied using industry standard application equipment and cleans up with water.
Bio+EC is engineered and formulated to help reduce erosion in areas such as embankments, environmentally sensitive land, agriculture, and parks. Bio+EC is also effective with controlling erosion and accelerating hydro-seeded growth. Applications include both surface spraying and blending with onsite material.
Stockpile & Material Erosion
The cost of erosion on stockpiles and other materials involves both the direct loss of the material itself and significant indirect costs related to environmental damage, cleanup, and regulatory penalties. Erosion, caused by wind or water, can result in the loss of thousands of dollars in material and require expensive, ongoing management.
Erosion directly reduces the volume of usable material,
such as sand or soil. Sediment that washes off stockpiles
and into drains or waterways is expensive to remove.
In Canada, dredging costs for sediment removal have
been reported to cost between $15 – $225 per cubic metre.
Topsoil erosion and the associated loss of nutrients in Canada cost the agricultural industry approximately $3 billion annually in lost crop production.
